Extremely Loud Incredibly Close
The movie we saw in
class was about Oscar a kid who loses his dad in the 9-11 attack. They were on
an expedition looking for the sixth pearl, his dad gave him a key but Oscar
didn’t know what it opened. After his dad died he started looking what it
opened, he was curious and he felt he needed to know what the key was for. He
started looking for clues, clues that would lead him to find an answer. In the
envelop was a name written, “Black”. That’s when he started looking for people
who were named Black. He visited them all, one by one, asking if they knew his
father. Finally, he found that one person who knew his father, but he didn't find the answer he was looking for. The key didn’t belong to Oscar; the other
man had lost it and said it didn't have to do anything with Oscar’s father.
Although Oscar understood that, he felt disappointed, making him have a
breakdown and telling the guy how he felt. Oscar was distant from his mother,
was telling lies and he told he felt guilty about not being able to pick up the
phone when his father called that one last time. Oscar headed back home, got
into his room and had an anger breakdown, in that moment his mother came and
made him control himself. She told him she always knew what he was up to,
making him feel not alone in the journey. She made him feel safe and close to
her again. He learned that he could live his life without his father and still
make him proud.
